Chacha Chaudhary, Ramayana, Mahabharata…… hmmm ringing bells? These were the popular shows during the 80s and 90s and are considered as evergreens! This is the reason during this novel coronavirus pandemic some of them are again being shown on the television during the self-quarantine period.
Now, fans are asking to re-run everyone’s favorite Indian superhero show ‘Shaktiman.’ This show was a massive hit during its time and featured Mukesh Khanna- India’s authentic and most famous superhero.
After the comeback of Ramayana and Mahabharata on television a few days ago, there has been an enormous demand to re-run Shaktiman. To this high demand, the actor revealed the good news that there is a sequel on its way!
According to an interview with Bombay Times, Mukesh Khanna confirmed that the news that they had been working on a sequel of Shaktiman from a while now, he said, “For the past three years, we have been working towards bringing out the second installment of Shaktiman, which obviously will be contemporary but will have its authenticity as it will be rooted down in our values.”
He further added that “we got the idea to make the sequel because fans had this curiosity to know that what happened further?” Just to enlighten you that Mukesh didn’t only play the tutorial role in the superhero show but also co-curated it.
However, Khanna is encouraged by seeing the excitement among the fans, and they are demanding to re-run the show during the lockdown. To his excitement, he added, “I feel that whenever we return to work after this crisis, I will be in a better place to work and bring out the second installment of ‘Shaktiman,’ because of the high demand than ever before among the fans.”
Already a lot of work has been done under the banner of Shaktiman, to acquaintance you. In 2013 a telefilm was made and titled ‘Humara Hero Shaktimaan,’ it starred Khanna as in Shaktiman and Uday Sachdeva as a junior Shaktimaan, and it was shown on POGO Shaktimaan: The animated series was launched in 2011 and was shown on Sonic. It was directed by Soumitra Ranade. It can be seriously seen that how much love Indian kids have for Shaktiman, and still, he has a vast audience!
In his interview with the Indian Express in 2013, he also expressed his desire to make a film on the superhero. He said, “I wanted to make a full-fledge feature film on Shaktiman, but had to make it with telefilms when finances for it didn’t work as I planned out.”
The trailer of a 3D animated series on Shaktimaan has been announced already, it will be launched by Comic Con India.
