Actor Priyanshu Painyuli is rumored to join the lead cast of Taapsee Pannu starrer Rashmi Rocket. He will be playing the role of an army officer and Taapsee’s husband in this sports film. Although, Rashmi Rocket movie will be fabricated around the story of an athlete from Gujarat.
Priyanshu was last seen in the Netflix original film Upstarts and is super excited to be part of this project. In a press statement, he said, “This is looking like a great year already and hopefully will close on a great note. Also, it is a great start of a great decade too. I will be working as a lead role opposite to Taapsee Pannu in Rashmi Rocket movie. I will be playing the role of an army officer in the film. It is a matter of great pride for me. Since I hail from a defense background, playing a man in the uniform is both the matter of honor and responsibility for me as everyone will be expecting high from me, and I can’t disappoint anyone.”
To his excitement, he further added that “it’s exhilarating, especially after my last film Upstarts, whose universe is so far removed from the world this film sets in. The shooting of the film will kickstart next month, and we will shoot across Delhi, Dehradun, Kutch, and Mussoorie. Although the movie, Rashmi Rocket is a fictional film that is inspired by real events.”
After Soorma and Saand Ki Ankh, Rashmi Rocket will be Taapsee’s third sports-inspired film. We think she is totally in love with sports-inspired scripts. Although, Soorma was a biopic based on the hockey player Sandeep Singh and starred Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu, and Angad Bedi. Whereas, Saand Ki Ankh was too a biopic on the shooter dadis’ Prakashi Tomar and Chandro, who are the oldest sharpshooters of the world. Bhumi Pednekar shared the screen with Taapsee in this film.
However, Taapsee’s love for upcoming sports biopic doesn’t come to an end here. So, Taapsee will be again seen in Shabaash Mithu, a film based on Indian women’s cricket captain Mithali Raj.
Akarsh Khurana directs the Rashmi Rocket Full Movie. However, talking about Taapsee’s upcoming projects, she already signed five films in her bucket this year and which releases this year, including Haseen Dilruba, Rashmi Rocket, Shabaash Mithu, Womaniya, and Tadka.
Taapsee’s latest film Thappad has gathered positive responses from both the audiences and the critiques. However, the film pointlessly posed a question against domestic violence, that often brushed under the carpets by our patriarchal society.
