‘I For India’ concert, which was held on May 3, 2020, for raising funds for the COVID-19 frontline warriors, successfully raised an amount of Rs 52 crore. So far the count is just increasing. Many celebrities of the Bollywood industry took to their social media handles to inform their followers of the donation amount. Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor, and Arjun Kapoor thanked the people for watching the online concert and donating more than what was expected.
According to sources, I For India concert turns out to be that this online concert has become the world’s biggest fundraiser concert organized live on Facebook, to raise an amount of Rs 4.3 crore. Philanthropists and corporate donors managed to donate an amount of Rs 47.77 crore.
The online concert, I For India received overwhelming attention and help from people from all across the globe. The entire donation amount will be transferred to Give India to fight the battle of COVID-19 and will be used for relief work. Many stars took a step forward to thank all their fans and the countrymen for showing their genuine support at all times.
It seems like the initiative started off as an online concert but it can turn into a movement, looking at its initial success. The kind of response this concert received is crazy and something like this has never received so much love considering the history of other events.
