Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar for the very first time will be seen together in Badhaai Ho’s second instalment Badhaai Do. Shooting will start in June 2020 and is set to hit the theatres in 2021.
Ayushman Khurrana starrer Badhaai ho had already been a hit and was totally loved by the fans. Along with Ayushman, it featured Sanya Malhotra, Surekha Sikri, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and the fantastic performance of the actors had won the hearts of the audience. Badhaai ho banged two national awards, the best popular film as it provided a total entertainment package to the audience.
According to Mumbai Mirror that the film producer wants to take this second instalment further by coming up with the second instalment. According to reports Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar will share the screen together for the first time. They will be playing the lead roles in the second part titled Badhaai Do.
Badhaai Do is again a family comedy and will revolve around an implausible relationship. The film will be directed by Prolific ad filmmaker and hunter director Harshvardhan Kulkarni.
It is said that both of the films will be fabricated around two different storylines; however, the theme is set to be shared. Rajkummar will be playing the role of a male Delhi cop who is posted in Mahila thana, and Bhumi will be seen in the role of a PT teacher. It will start with a mushy story, but the twist will follow up when they will meet up. Their lives will entwine in an array of ways as the story will progress.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Rajkummar spoke about his character in the film “I look for layered characters, and this is my perfect match. Moreover, my character is surrounded by a strong woman at home and work, that adds more depth to my character” Bhumi Pednekar also spoke about her character “Again my character is strong, independent and it gives me a lot of scopes to bring a very different and fun character to life. This time too, the film will say something extremely significant, relevant and relatable but you know hilariously. Also, I am excited to share the screen with Raj for the first time.”
