Beautiful actress Amyra Dastur strongly believes that the industry and the concept of cinemas will be transformed after the coronavirus pandemic comes to an end. She thinks that the digital platforms will take over the cinemas and everyone will be glued to their screens instead of buying a ticket and watching the movie on the big screen.
Amyra also reveals that due to the country lockdown, not only the theatres have shut down but all the filming has been postponed, which has resulted in her projects getting pushed and this is definitely not a good sign.
She is very excited to witness the evolution of cinema and see how several OTT platforms will engage the audience more than any film ever has. She feels lucky because she is not a new-comer in the Bollywood industry and she can find work very easily.
Considering this situation, it means that the only talent will prevail and nepotism will not have much chance. It is very obvious that given the ground situation and future situation, it will take more than eight months to witness a situation of full-house in the theatres.
And until then the leading OTT platforms such as Netflix, Hotstar, Amazon Prime, Alt Balaji, and many more would have gained a lot of viewership and popularity. It does look like the content on the small screens will overpower the content on the big screens only because of the crazy pandemic.
Before the country faced the coronavirus lockdown, the actress had a murder mystery to be released; however the project has clearly been postponed. The actress will be seen on screen with the handsome actor Kunal Kapoor. Amyra Dastur revealed that the filming of the mystery film, “Koi Jaane Na”, was wrapped up in mid-February itself however the postponing of the launch was necessary.
Due to the lockdown, the star-cast has been unable to go to places and promote their much-awaited film. Plus, keeping the fact in mind that even the Bollywood industry does not know when the films will be screened in theatres, it must have been difficult for the stars to take promotion into consideration.
The actress also revealed that she was filming for the series, “Dhongri to Dubai”, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The web series has been adapted from the book of Hussain Zaidi. She was also filming for her film with Prabhudeva; the Tamil movie has been titled as “Bagheera”. To add to her success list, Ali Abbas Zafar’s project titled ‘Tandav’, which will be showcased on Amazon Prime, is now at its editing stage and in no time will hit the OTT platform.
The actress was supposed to fly to Chennai city on March 23, 2020; however, it got postponed due to the lockdown and later got canceled. It is a good thing that she did not fly to Chennai, had that been the case she would have been stuck in the city. Thus, the idea of filming after the lockdown is permanently lifted is the best pick for the cast and crew of the film.
The actress was featured in Bollywood films including, “Rajma Chawal” and “Judgemental Hai Kya” and received a positive response from the audience. It seems like now she will go back to her schedule on a priority basis. The actress reveals that a few months have been very tough for her since everyone wants the same date, but she has managed to prioritize her projects. This step has managed her to receive a new schedule of deadlines, which she reveals is much better.
